Self Educating, Educational Research, Homeschooling, Cheerleading Coach - Bishop Park All-Stars! :) I have a gifted child - Joseph age 11, and a daughter with Aspergers, Whitney, age 9, who is also very talented and gifted (but very sensitive). I have learned to listened to my students, to look for and assess their strengths. I have had wonderful results using my 2Hr method of 'Learning Immersion'. Younger children are pressed until they have full understanding of material - then they have decompression breaks - next we review/move on again. I always reward my younger students, I DO give hugs! I love children, and I encourage them to focus on their own unique special gifts, learning differences are just that, differences, not disorders! :)
